3D MODELLING

All of the progress of me 3D modelling in Maya.

MODELLING PROCESS

BASIC SHAPES
At this stage, I was still blocking out how I wanted the model to look. I used a lot of cubes and edgeloops and bevels to manipulate the shape of the model

TEXTURING
At this point, I was starting to separate the colours and textures from each other in the model, I used phongs and aiStandardSurfaces and assigning them to the selected part of the model to achieve this.

LIGHTING
I started to add the lighting via area lights [LIGHTING>AREA LIGHT]. Then positioning the point towards the model, I also adjusted the colour and intensity.

POSING
I decided my model looked way too stiff. I used edge loops, shift select and the move/rotate tool to move the different segments of the model so that it would have a more interesting pose.
